IDENTIFICATION

How can I verify my identity?

US financial regulations require us to verify the identifies of all our clients before opening an account.

For US Individuals

1. Unexpired government-issued identification evidencing nationality or residence and bearing a photograph. We accept:

  • US driver’s license

  • Passport

  • State issued ID

  • Resident permit ID

  • U.S. Green Card

  • Child ID card

  • NYC card

  • U.S. visa card

 

2. A current bill (no greater than 6-month-old) showing, an address, which will be a residential street address, and ​​

3. An identification number: 

  • IRS taxpayer identification number or

  • Social Security Number (for U.S. persons).

For Other US Entities (Non-Individual)

1. Unexpired government-issued identification evidencing nationality or residence and bearing a photograph such as US driver’s license or Passport for all owners, or beneficiaries,

2. Documents showing the existence of the entity, showing a principal place of business, local office, or other physical location. We accept:

  • Articles of Incorporation

  • A government-issued business license

  • A partnership agreement

  • A trust instrument

3. An identification number, which will be an IRS taxpayer identification number, like an Employer Identification Number (EIN), also known as a Federal Tax Identification Number, is used to identify a business entity.

Document Requirements

Each document must meet specific requirements in order to be accepted for verification. The information in these documents must be matched to the information on your brokerage account. 

A summary of document standards is listed below:

Proof of Identity document requirements:

  • Documents must be uploaded in full color (i.e. no black-and-white scans)

  • Documents must be clear and large enough to read

  • Photocopies of identity documents are not acceptable

  • Documents must be valid and not expired

  • Complete documents must be uploaded. A complete document is defined as:

    • Both the front and back of a driver’s license or identity card

    • The entire personal information page of a passport

 

Proof of Home Address document requirements

  • Documents must be clear and large enough to read

  • Documents must be dated within the past six months

  • Complete documents must be uploaded. A complete document is defined as:

    • At least one full page of the document

    • The full name and address of the individual are clearly stated and legible

  • Documents can be uploaded in .png, .jpg, or .pdf format

 

How can I upload documents to verify my identity?


Due to the highly sensitive nature of your verification documents, Dean Ryle can only accept documents that are sent securely or uploaded through a secure link. Dean Ryle will send you an invitation to upload sensitive information. Importantly documents must not be sent through email.

Is Dean Ryle Asset Management, LLC a brokerage firm?

No. As noted above, Dean Ryle Asset Management, LLC is a Registered Investment Advisor (RIA) registered with and regulated by the State of New York, and the Securities Exchange Commission.  

 

Does Dean Ryle Asset Management, LLC offer financial planning services?

 

No, Dean Ryle is an investment management specialist and does not offer planning services.

OPENING AN ACCOUNT

 

I am not a US citizen. Can I invest?


Yes, however, you will need to be classified as a US resident to invest. 


Can I use my existing brokerage account?


To enable us to invest funds on your behalf, you can open a managed account with our broker/dealer, or authorize us to invest in an account already opened by you.


Once you sign up for an account, we send you all information needed to open an account linked to Dean Ryle Asset Management, LLC.


How do I submit the agreement?

TAX 


Does Dean Ryle Asset Management provide tax advice?


Dean Ryle Asset Management cannot provide tax advice or prepare tax documents for you. Please consult an accountant or tax attorney to determine the tax-related obligations associated with investing in a portfolio. Please note that the broker/dealers provide certain tools to assist you with your tax filings.
